A lot of Arabian horses showed up for this fair, making up some of the largest classes we have seen at the Fairs. It was great to see up to 15 horses in a class! Hennessy & Chanel did us proud winning their fair share and all deservedly so. Hennessy was amazing and it was one of the rare occasions that he changed his frame from Hunter to English with no fuss or excitement. Kim Weatherbee was Chanel's rider for this show and did a GREAT job. She had never ridden the mare before and they settled in quickly together to pull off some good performances. Thank you very much Kim!

For the second year I traveled with Pat Garland of Cosyland Farms to their Futurity show. This year was pretty low key, taking only two weanling fillies to do the conformation classes. Both fillies had a lot thrown at them in a week, first moving to Amberlea for some handling, bathing & clipping, then on the trailer for a windy & rainy trip to Peterborough area. By the end of the show, Natasha was handling her classes like a pro and both were settled in impressing all the visitors to their stalls.

Lysa, Hennessy and Chanel participated in this show with great success again. Many thanks to Melanie Roy, who guided Lysa to her wins in performance. Melanie had only ridden Lysa once before and did a super job. 

Chanel took a gang of youngsters to help her show off as well as her buddy Hennessy. There were so many ribbons and trophies, the hood of the motorhome was covered! We didn't keep real good track of who placed where in what, but here is a good guess at our results. Mostly we good naturedly booed Laurie Beckstead and Thunder as they won class after class! Congratulations to a job well done,  Thunder was once again high point Arab for the show. They will be updated once the official paperwork is received from the Fair. The classes were huge too!

Lori Stuart and Dessia took Hennessy & Chanel to this first fair for AES and had a blast. Lori had never shown in the Light Horse Division before and got an eyeful with Hackneys, Saddlebreds, Morgans and Road Horses. It was her first time competing in Parade Pony and her famous line is "What exactly gait is this?" (Parade Gait <VBG>). Hennessy looked and felt incredible, earning some well deserved wins. 

Lil was our shining star with 3 Top 5s, Andy didn't embarrass us and had some really good moments in the dressage ring, Lysa had to be scratched from her Regional classes due to the severe thunder storm on Thursday, Chanel was also a great trooper and Saphire looked marvelous for her classes, but was bum high and growthy for this show. The girls all made one card in their classes, showing that they were competitive and belonged in their classes. We were very proud of our horses and students to give such solid performances.

We used this as a warm up for the Regional classes and mostly for the girls (Lee, Bailey, Lori & Lindsey) to get more ring experience. Everyone did great and had a blast even though they weren't always in the ribbons!

We took only 4 yearlings by Ibn Bee to this show for halter classes and with even stiffer competition, they did very well and made a huge impression on the judge and fellow exhibitors. They really are lovely horses to say the least. It was especially wonderful for the first time Arabian owners, Kim Woolford and Pat McMahn.

Despite the rain, we had a great time, very relaxed and the horses did quite well for their first show of the year and for some of them, their first show ever! Many thanks to Lori, Lindsey, Lee, Bailey, Sue and Mary for helping so much and ensuring that the horses were ready and the classes video taped. (Photos coming soon by Pat Garland.)
