Al Hanifa Andohmi - The Truly Deep Red. Three-B Rashiek x EB Korja Dawn |
|
|
"Andy" was bred by Mary McBride of Lunenburg, ON. She and her daughter, Helen, went to visit Rideaufield Farms shortly after Janie Greenburg purchased Three-B Rasheik. They fell in love and decided to breed him to Mary's foundation mare, EB Korja Dawn. After a long delivery to produce a huge colt, Mary had a real fight on her hands with foal pneumonia . Andy finally came through after many hours of nursing and vet calls. They gave him the Arabic name meaning the Truly Deep Red in honour of his sire "Red" and his deep chestnut colour. Andy was started under saddle as a 3 year old, then was in training for some time with a dressage instructor. They didn't always see eye to eye and therefore his show accomplishments were modest. He did well at the local shows and fairs winning in performance and halter. Andy is a big pussycat that really likes to intimidate people to start. His "feelings" are easily hurt if you yell at him and he is quick to apologize in his way for scaring you. Under saddle and loose in the field, Andy has incredible movement. His huge stride would suit many warmbloods and bigger horses. Under the superior coaching of FEI Dressage judge, Sue Rothgeb, watch for Andy & Dessia to burn up the dressage arena in 2003! Andy is passing on his size, movement and wonderful temperament to his foals. There aren't too many of them, but they are special.
